Lesson Learned

A few months ago Colby and I were put in charge of Youth Conference.  When we were called my eyes got big and I was thinking, Do you know how old I am?! I mean I still get asked at the door if my parents are home. (Which I don't mind by the way.  This way I can simply turn those pesky sells men away by simply saying "Nope" and feel okay about it cause I'm not lying)  So we stressed, planned, and prepared for it.  Our youth comity came up with the activities, and we helped make it possible.
Although I was a stress basket the day of and the days preceding, I think it turned out pretty good.
They did a service project for an elderly couple in the ward..
Had dinner, which thankfully less kids showed up than expected because I had a whole pot of chicken that never cooked.
Had a talent show.  I was really impressed with all the kids that participated, they did awesome.
Even Colby joined in.
Then Ashli, Colby's sister, set the mood for her husband Brian to give a geat fireside.
We camped,
Then woke up the next morning for some boating.  I think Colby has had his feel for camping for the next year.:)
Through this whole experiece we have learned the importance of one word, "D-E-L-I-G-A-T-I-O-N!"  If we are ever in charge of anything again, we will Not try to do it all on our own ever again.
Thanks to my family and Colby's family for all you offered and all your help.  You really made it work out for us!

Lonely, Oh So Lonely

For almost 2 weeks straight while Colby did this with the scouts...
in Flaming Gorge, then again in Moab
I did this...

...A whole lot of nothing, and this...

Alot of thinking about and missing him.  I hid this card, along with a few other cheesy presents in his bag for his second trip to Moab.
Glad to have him back for good!  Thanks for the example of sacrificing time to fulfill your church calling.  Those 2 weeks made me realize even more how much you do! Thanks mom, dad, Katie, and Kelly for letting me stay @ your house or staying with me so I didn't have to be scared.  I HATE staying home alone!

KSL Classifieds

I saw this in the comics today, and laughed.  It was definitely made with Colby in mind...
Cross out craigslist and put in KSL, and this is Colby!!!

LP- AKA Lake Powell

This year Lake Powell was much smaller than usual, just my parents Bryce and I from my fam, with all the other families down members as well, so the houseboat was pretty empty.
Colby and I went up a slot canyon that I hadn't been up in years, and Colby never had been to one.  So although there had been flooding throughout the week, we braved the canyon.  Yes, we could have been caught in a flash flood, swept away, and died, but it sure was worth it!
Due to the flooding the night before, there was standing water.  It was scary as you couldn't see in it and it kept getting deeper and deeper, not to mention it was freezing!

Trying to keep my shirt and skirt from getting dirty
The week before Lake Powell, my whole family got sick.  Literally, parents, grandparents and all, minus Bryce and Erica because they were in Florida.  Well, Bryce too was hit in Lake Powell, probably because of his own fault, but poor boy was quarantined from the boat.

Out on the beach with a bucket and some pop
The rest of the week was spent surfing, skiing, and wake boarding.  So much fun!

83 and at it again!

We Love you Lake Powell, can't wait till next year!
