Boys Day Out
Say Hello....
...to our first ever house plant. We were so excited to receive this house warming gift from Colby's grandma Berg. She brought it when she came over for some chicken enchiladas and a house tour. I am a little nervous to take care of it though, hopefully I can keep it alive. Although, Colby may just kill it before me. He doesn't believe that it doesn't need to be watered every day. I told him he'd drown it, but he doesn't listen. And isn't ivy a shade plant? As you can see he put it right in the window. Oh well, we are excited to have it for the time being!

Happy Hearts Full of LOVE!
Last Thursday I woke up early to begin making, with the help of a mix, Valentine sugar cookies for our grandparents. After a little mishap, I was able to get them in and out of the oven in time to go see a movie with Colby's sister Ashli. She had invited me the day before, and since I didn't have work, why not? We saw Dear John, and I thought it was very good. It had a very unexpected twist at the end and we enjoyed it. After some Cafe Rio Ashli told me Colby had planned this so he could work on my Valentine's gift. I instantly felt awful, as he knew, I was getting him nothing. I came home to a large foam puzzle piece on my counter.

I went down to our basement to find he had cleared out one of the rooms, fixed the treadmill and made me a home gym complete with a flat screen TV. And that's not even the nicest part... he had sold his gun that he had only bought a few weeks ago. I absolutely hated the idea of a gun in our house, so he sold it and with the profit, bought and made the gym. What a babe, he deserves the husband of the year award:). I am so excited that I no longer have to drive down to my parents to run anymore.
After finding my exciting present, I spent the rest of the afternoon frosting the cookies till Colby got home.
We then spent the rest of the night delivering them to all our grandparents. Grandpa Radmall, then Grandpa Sherman, Grandma Bev (she was a little camera shy), Grandma Hassell, and lastly Grandma Berg.
We were so excited to take them, and had a lot of fun doing it. We also gave Grandma Berg her very belated Christmas present. Ha a little tacky, but luckily some of her kids were also delivering a Christmas present:).
The next day we left for a fun yet short 3 day snow trip up in Island Park at Colby's friends cabin. We were up there with 7 other couples, and 4 more friends. We had a lot of fun 4 wheeling, sledding and just playing games and getting to know each other. It was a much needed get away, and a great way to celebrate our first married Valentines.

Freedom, Sweet Freedom
Gotta love the Lloyd Christmas look
This post is long over due, now that it's been almost 3 weeks since I've been done. But hey, I've been enjoying my free time. I did what's called a preceptorship. Basically it's an internship or your last clinical of nursing school. I had to get 135 hours in at the hospital before 3 and a half weeks were up. I was put on CVTU or the cardiac floor working GRAVEYARDS! This means I worked 3-4 days a week from 5pm to 5am. Yuck! I honestly don't know how people do it. For the nights that are pretty slow, I was doing everything I could to keep my eyes open. And the whole month I didn't get one thing done. I came home at about 6am, went to sleep, woke up at about 11 ate lunch, did whatever, then went back to sleep at about 1 to wake up at 3:30 to get ready and leave by 4:15. And even if I didn't have to go back the next night, it seemed I was always trying but never truly catching up on my sleep. My life was pointless. I only saw Colby for about 10 minutes total a day. 5 minutes when I crawled into bed, then for about 5 more when he left for work. I felt like I was living in St. George again. No fun! Then to add to my tiredness, some days I'd have to go to class or work for a little bit. But I can't complain too much Colby did so much for me during this time. He got our house spotless, and cleaned and stocked our pantry in the basement. He even tin foiled our windows so I could sleep during the day. One day he took off of work to make me a fabulous breakfast and spend some time with me. Love him! And when I say "spend some time" I mean sleep till 5 cause he hadn't been sleeping very well either. But now I am done and only have 1 class left all semester until I graduate! Best feeling ever!!! The day I came home from my last shift I felt like a million bucks, now I don't know what to do with myself. But I must say I love spending more time at home and enjoying the beauties the sunlight has to offer. Only seeing the night time is a bummer.
With our extra time we get to spend together we have done a few fun things. I went to the car show with Colby at the expo center and he came to a state drill competition with me. Ha what a trooper. We both Finally got haircuts, thanks to Sheena. Mine was in dire need of a cut, but I wanted to wait till I was done at the hospital. With it long I could easily pull it up and leave. Saturday I chopped it. I still don't know how Colby feels about it, he is always nice so you never know. He wanted me to keep it long forever, he's never seen me with really short hair. I was growing it out for him, but the longer it got, the shorter I wanted it. Plus let's be honest, my hair wasn't made to be long. Too thin.
Last week we had a little birthday party for my mom, and yesterday we had a Superbowl party at the Sherman's. Or in other words, "the only sports event Colby watches on TV all year." Both were fun, and we always love spending time with the fam.
Today while babysitting Kendell we got to go to the Tree House. I'd never been and was excited to go. Kendell was a little shy though and mostly watched the other kids play. Afterward I took her to the temple to look at the fountains she loved it.
