Mormon Holiday and Making Mischief

Thanks to our "weird Utah Mormon holiday" as I've heard said at work, I had Friday off.  So Thursday night we had a bunch of friends over to watch an outdoor movie with a projector and a bed sheet hanging from our deck.  Robin Hood with Kevin Costner was the Special Feature, and besides the AC going on every 10 minutes, and the few mishaps making it a little later than I had planned on, it was a good time.
Friday I spent the day getting ready for a baby shower I had with my in laws that night.
I ran around frantically to make this...
Thanks to the help of Colby, I was at least able to get there on time, otherwise it would have been 2 hrs after the party started that I would have gotten there. Colby's sister's threw an awesome shower and the place looked great
That night, with Porter and Erika, we went ice blocking.  When we got to the park @ about 11-11:30 we found these signs...

So, not  only were we after hours for those of you that can't read it, but no longer does Romer Park allow ice blocking.  So we broke 2 of the 3 sign rules.
First run down Colby lost his ring and this was the seen.  Shining our phone lights, flashing my camera, and running our fingers through the grass we gave a good effort to find his ring. We were about to give up looking, when Erika found it, thanks to her Colby still has his wedding ring.
We made a few runs down, then deserted the place, leaving no evidence we were ever there.  Oh, minus the ice blocks and trail lines down the grass:)

Excuse our wide eyes in these pictures, we didn't exactly know where we were supposed to look.
On the actual 24th we celebrated with a yummy BBQ with the extended Sherman side and fireworks

I love sparklers!
Thank you Pioneers for finding this place and for a day off work!

Lunch Date

Every day I have lunch at the hospital pond.  I drive over there and eat my packed lunch enjoying the scenery.  I always think "It would be fun to have a little lunch date with Colby here."  So finally I made it happen.  The night before I packed a lunch for 2, and wrote a little invitation inviting him to meet me at the duck pond on a bench for a lunch date. I set it by his keys and left for work.  All morning I could hardly wait for lunch to roll around. Well, we didn't exactly meet @ my usual bench, and it wasn't exactly alone time, but we still had a lot of fun, and I got these out of it...
I felt like we were dating again.  I think I'll make it a point to do it more often.  Nothing better than a little break from work and spending time with your husband.

The other morning I woke up to this...
Yep, he's the best.  Thanks babe, it was wonderful.  Love you too!

Let Freedom Ring

We were glad to celebrate the 4th for 3 days in a row. After a movie with the Sherman girls, we spent the 3rd up on the lake to have our Radmall annual boat outing and fireworks on the lake.  Nothing better, we look forward to it every year.  This year we had to take up 2 boats, our little family has become a big family and we have outgrown the Master Craft.
Colby getting ready to brave the cold water.  Sadly I have become a woos and am okay with waiting a little bit longer to get the warm water.  Who woulda thought July 3rd would be too cold to jump in?!
We love sunsets on the lake.
Fireworks are my fav.  Watching fireworks from the lake?  Even better
The 4th we spent with Colby's cousins, had a yummy BBQ, then finished off with a pool party at Colby's parents with the Bergs on the 5th.  Unfortunately we were exhausted and slept through the firework show.  But we had a great weekend with the fam.
Happy Independence Day!

A Bride, a Groom and a Wedding

Last week we spent 2 days celebrating Whit and Tom.  It was fun to see a product of Northridge High work out:)
The Wedding Dinner was a yummy BBQ at the Brewer cabin the night before the big day

Waiting for the newly marrieds
There they are!

Luckily I went and got a new outfit for the reception after the temple.  We were supposed to wear all black, and I had borrowed an outfit, but wanted one of my own.  Well I went to get ready and our garage wouldn't go up, so I would have been out an all black outfit.  Thank goodness for my rare shopping spree.

The reception was awesome.  Whit's mom is great at decorating and it showed

After the cake cutting, they had a dance party, DJ and all.  We had a blast, then sent the newlyweds on their way!
Congrats guys!  Welcome to married life!
