The Flawed, Yet Perfect Proposal

Colby and I were engaged on April 11th at approximately 1:30 in the morning.:) After I drove home from St. George, Colby asked me to go to The Roof with him. Now, I was fully expecting a proposal that night, or at least that weekend, but after driving to SLC, the way Colby was acting, I did not think it was going to happen that night. We spent a nice evening enjoying yummy rolls and food, while overlooking the temple and listening to live piano music.
We then went to the SLC library, where our first date was. There I thought, well maybe tonight, but after walking around and talking for a bit, we then left for temple square with no ring on hand. We walked around temple square for a bit while I thought, 'he'd better not do it here!:)'. He then turned to me and said, "Let's go to the Draper Temple!" So we drove up there, and it was freezing might I add, walked around, then he sat me down and said "Dang I wish I had the ring." You see, he had the ring ordered and I knew this, so at this point I knew for sure tonight was not the night.
So we drove home and on the way I fell asleep, as I was exhausted from the car ride from St. George. Ha, this was, as Colby said, his first flaw in his plan. He dropped me off and I gladly let him go as I was soo ready for bed. (You see, Colby wanted me to ask him to stay for a while, which he would have objected to, but I messed that one up) So, I went in, got ready for bed and went to sleep. Meanwhile, Colby left my house, but only drove around the block, came back and set hundreds of candles up around my deck (the first place he ever told me he loved me). Well, second flaw in his plan, the wind started to blow as he was about half way done lighting the candles. So, he waited for about an hour and a half for the wind to die down, but with many failed attempts he was never able to get all the candles lit. So, he told me, eventhough he thought it was lame, he decided to do it inside, because he knew we had family parties the next day and I would want my ring to show. So, he moved all the big candles inside and after another small incident finally came in my room and woke me up. I at this point was dead asleep and so confused when he woke me. It wasn't till about half way down the stairs it finally hit me what was going on. He took me to my lit up family room, explained how everything went wrong, and apologized perfusely for getting me out of bed, but it wasn't supposed to go that way, he was supposed to have everything lit and ready and right before I got into bed he was going to come get me. But he finally got down on his knee and asked me. We couldn't stop laughing, he kept saying how it was, "typical him for everything to go wrong." He had the plan, to kind of throw me off since he knew I was expecting it and throw me off he did!
