Halloween Happenings

To start out the season
My sister invited me with her crafty friends to make "Wicked" blocks
Then we carved with some friends
The finished products
Our friends were dressing up as Batman and Robin,
hence the batman sign
We found a new love for black lights
And helped my mom plan for a very successful Halloween party
Bats lined the hall to welcome the guests
With yummy food.  The menu consisted of:
Poisoned Apples
Scary Salad (yes a bit of a stretch)
Forbidden Fruit
and
Cauldron Chili
EVERYONE dressed up, even my grandparents!
Only missing Bryce and Brian, both away on school assignments
Colby and I were a Witch and Frankenstein
Colby never disappoints even though he threw this together last second.  He even topped it off with the screws coming out of his neck.
Another Great DI shoe find. If these don't say
"black magic", I don't know what does.
Erica planned some activities
The bean bag toss
Jenn made these with her friend
Pumpkin Bowling
Doughnut on a String
Love this picture cause it explains the moment perfectly:
Kelle was not going to lose, Kade with huge eyes ecstatic he gets
to eat doughnuts and Ken not so sure.
My favorite picture of the night, Maddie wanted in and
got more in one bite then Kendell did in 10 minutes
Mummy Wrapping
Trick or Treating
Scavanger Hunt
and
Finished off the night with some Scary Stories
Then for actual Halloween night
Luminaries lined our sidewalks to welcome Trick-or-Treaters
and we ate our 2nd annual dinner in a pumpkin
Once again a loaded October, and another successful Halloween, wouldn't you say?

Under the Sea

The Sherman's took a trip down to St. George.
The main event

Little Mermaid at Tuachan.
On the way in we saw this
So gross, I was nervous the rest of the trip
A real life tarantula... Creepy!

We made a temple stop,

And played for hours in the sand dunes.
This is why I love St. George.
Thanks for the fun trip Mitch and Sue

Library Delinquent

I often wonder how people went through school without the internet.  They must be really smart people, and spent a LOT of time searching for their resources.
I remember learning about "call numbers" and "card catalogs" in my distant past, but really, did anyone ever use these time consuming methods?
I thought libraries were just a guaranteed quiet spot to study.
Proud to say after 5+ years in college, I checked out my first books.
