Remembering 9/11
I can't believe it was 10 years ago that tragic day happened. I will always remember the way I felt, where I was, and the non stop coverage. I remember my radio going silent while I was getting ready, and I just thought that it was because my radio was old. I remember the leaves were changing colors as I sat in my dad's car waiting for my neighbor to come out so he could take us to the bus stop as the news radio broadcast that a "jumbo jet flew into one of the twin towers," then later said it was reported another one had flown into the other, but it "probably wasn't true." I remember a teacher coming into the office telling everyone that they had "blew up the pentagon". I remember the halls in my Jr High were empty. It was a surreal day.
To remember those whose lives were lost that day, Colby and I went to the Healing Field in SLC. I had been wanting to go for the past 10 years, but never had made it, so we made it priority.
Well, map quest brought us to here...

Colonial Flag, a flag and garden store. Haha Colby thought it was hilarious, I was highly disappointed as you can see it was late and we were in a hurry to make it there.
But we finally did make it, and it was worth the fiasco. Each flag represented someone who was lost that day. Whether it was in the towers, the pentagon, or a plane each had a story connected to it, and it was really neat.
This year they erected a memorial of the firefighters raising the flag on ground 0 and it was really neat.
I am grateful to live in America and enjoy the freedoms we do. I think some people take it for granted, and they have no idea how lucky they are. I will never forget the unity that was felt as a country after 9/11. Great things can come out of tragedies if we let them.

Summer Sum Up
I can't believe the hot days of summer are passing me by and are very well gone.
I love summer...
Boating, fireworks, BBQ's, picnics, bike rides, and summer vacation, you will all be missed!

To finish up the summer Colby planned a special date. I had told him to think outside the box, and think outside the box he did.
Have you ever heard of the grasslands? Either had I, but it was right here close in West Layton.

And with all the beauty that surrounded us, we let our inner artist come out:)
No Pablo Picaso yet, but one day.
