Queen of Hearts

This year, I hinted at Colby that I wanted to attend the Marriage Celebration at WSU with John Bytheway. He got the hint, we got tickets, and to start out our Valentine's, went to the sold out convention Friday.  He was an awesome speaker, and it was everything I had hoped.  I think Colby and I got a lot out of it.
Valentine's Day came and of course I had the usual cheeseyness planned for Colby.
The day started out with whole wheat love note pancakes.
Roses compliments of Colby
So the hearts didn't quite form in thick whole wheat like it does in regular pancake batter, but he got the point.
Then, on my way to work, I left him a little invite to meet me for a picnic lunch, and a bag of cupid's arrows to get him through the day.

We met as planned at Beus Park on my lunch break, and we picnicked in the back of a mini van.
I got this sweet picnic basket from my Grandpa, it came complete with cups, silverware and plates
His main present, this little bouquet of a dozen beef jerky.  Hehe I thought it was funny, and Colby loves beef jerky.
For lunch we had mini heart sandwiches, heart apples, veggies and dip, and heart shaped cinnamon sugar chips to dip in fruit salsa for dessert (yummy). Oh, and who could forget the Martinelle's on Valentines?!

Then for Colby's turn, when I got home from work he introduced me to my gynormous Love Sac he had gotten for "a great deal," he knows I've always wanted one.  Then we had a yummy Rumbi Island dinner he picked up for eating in the comfort of our own home, as I wasn't up for fighting the Valentine Day crowd.
Since dating Colby, I think Valentine's has become one of my favorite holidays.  After all, what's better than celebrating your LOVE for someone?
Happy Valentine's Day!
I LOVE you Colby!

Birthday Socks

My mom was alone on her Birthday this year because my dad was in Arizona helping with dental boards.  So us girls made a girls night out of it.  My sister's kidnapped my mom, to her dismay, off the treadmill (she kept saying to me, "Can you believe they made me get off the treadmill?!")  and brought her to a place near my house for her first pedi.
Complete with a pink feathered crown and balloons, we made quite the scene walking in with our birthday hats.

For those of you that don't know, I have pretty tiny toenails, which is the reason I got asked when I put my feet up on the foot prop, (Asian accent) "You bite?"  No!  Are you kidding me?!  That's disgusting!
We ended up with pretty toes though, it was a fun girls night out.

My favorite part about the whole night.  My mom was sooo embarrassed that she would have to take her shoes off, cause (ssh) she wasn't prepared and had holy socks. :)  Gotta love the things she is worried about.
Happy Birthday Mom!  We love you!
